Bowsprit Pipe
That is a piece of dredge pipe that is made from thin wall flat stock spirally bent and welded at the factory. This kind if pipe is cheap and disposable. Think how long pipe lasts on a dredge in salt water. Low pressure application, main property the pipe has is abrasion resistance, totally unsuitable for a structural application, nowhere near the strength of schedule 40 prolly more like schd 20. Matter of fact this kind of pipe is not even listed in the Manual of Steel Construction Allowable Stress Design book on my desk.

So it's perfectly suited for its application on the Ann. After all isn't almost everything else on that Cheeser made from boogers?
